Cead Mile Failte...
(Kaid-meel-a-fall-cha - A hundred-thousand welcomes)

In June of 2010 Brendan Loughrey celebrated his 25th Anniversary in the music business by recording his 100th song in the studio. (A song every season for 25 years...) Those incredible years were split between thousands of solo performances and appearing in several differing band line-ups which included a previous Bluestack Band almost 10 years ago. This summer (2010) Brendan decided to "put the band back together" and contacted his original drummer Tony Baumann, Tony (a Chicago Police Officer) immediately took Brendan up on his offer to re-ingnite Bluestack once more, so the lads got together for an impromptu session, played a few tunes, had a few cocktails, a few laughs, and it was plain for everyone to see that the "magic" was still there.

Tony had been performing recently in another local Chicago band with a phenomenal Bass player named Jeff Hansel and he suggested that Jeff should become Bluestack's new bass player, so, they gave Jeff a call. He agreed to come down for a low-key jam-session with Brendan and Tony the following weekend and from that very first night the trio just clicked. Something special was in the air again, everyone could sense it, and by the end of that first evening there was no doubt in anyone's mind that Bluestack was back!

The bands' name is from The Bluestack Mountains in Brendan's home county of Donegal in the rugged North-West of Ireland. A beautifully diverse region featuring the stunning coastal Atlantic Drive, historic Bloody Foreland and home to some of the greatest Irish character's you are ever likely to encounter, and if you've not visited Donegal yet... what are you waiting for...!

Oh, and please bear with us Ladies and Gents as we work on our new website, it will soon be in it's full glory again! (Bio's coming soon).

In the meantime, as the lads rehearse and get their show together, please help us to spread the word that Bluestack is back. They should be on the road gigging again by October 2010... so stay tuned for updates and the latest news. Soon there will be The Bluestack Bullet Blog, a new CD and lots of other fun stuff, but more importantly the lad's just can't wait to get out there again with their particular brand of Irish music.

Thank you!
